OUR VISION
Our vision is to empower women in Niger to become the bright morning light or Duha of their communities.
Duha invests in women who are motivated to break free from the cycle of dependency by creating women visionaries that their children and others in the community can look up to – creating a ripple effect to inspire others around them to believe they can do the same.
FOUNDER'S STORY
As a former United Nations employee that lived and worked in a some of the least developed countries in the world like Niger and South Sudan as well as the richest and most developed countries in the world like Switzerland and the United States, it was clear we had more than enough resources for the world. However, the issue was in how it was distributed. So, I always found myself asking the question “What could we do to make micro-shifts of wealth and resources to where it’s needed most? And how do we do it at scale?”
This led me to experiment with different ideas and models on how we could work together as a global community to lift each other up. It started in Niger where we tested how $50 could make a life-changing impact on someone’s life. After successfully implementing our model and transforming the lives of six women, we realized we were on to something. And that is how Duha was born.

Duha partners with businesses that want to align their mission with something greater. When a purchase is made, 100% of dedicated profits from businesses are channeled directly to those in need of a hand up to start a sustainable business
OUR IMPACT
Together with our partners, Duha continues to transform the lives of women in Niger by helping them to start their own business. Women receive start-up money as well as regular business coaching and skills training to help lift themselves out of the cycle of dependency.
Currently, our focus is in Niger where we are perfecting our model. In the future, we plan to expand within the region and globally based on need.
